It does what it's supposed to. I printed a list of which adapter to use for specific wire sizes & taped it inside the case. When crimping, go until the dies are flush, continuing to press beyond that will ruin the seals.
Simple, quick and effective. Massive trouble saver.
You get some amazing crimps on automotive battery size cable. No need to solder the connection with this tool. I'm pretty sure with the pressure this provides the copper wire strands are crushed to a solid piece inside the connector. Most connections I used it for were 1/0 size. Time will tell if it lasts for as long as I want it to.
Works perfect best hex crim. Being an older tradesman and knowing how to treat tools properly. The release knob can be broken off if you are careless. I find clamping the rigid handle in my bench vice makes crimping cables easier than tying a shoe.
I am retrofitting my battery compliment on my sloop........ perfect for making battery terminals. Also can replace stay fittings.
