THIS THING IS LOUD! I bought this alarm for traveling and decided to try it out at home, when I put the batteries in (not included). It scared my wife and made her jump, it was so loud. It will definitely wake you up when it goes off! There are settings for sensitivity and on/off. This isn't anything fancy but it's practical if you want simple security when you are away from home.

Loud, Loud, Loud !!!!!!!! I recommend this for anyone living alone and anyone in general that's looking for a little more security. Especially at the price !!! All you single girls and single mom's get a few of these. I bought 2 and will be getting a few more..... Extremely Loud !!!!!

Even the low setting is screechingly startling. I don't have home security but if this thing doesn't wake up my fellow apartment dwellers, then they must be on ambien. Or dead.

On my job I sometimes have to stay at a local motel. This is a good peace of mind gadget. Don't know if I want to carry it in my carrry on luggage on flights. It is a little bulky when space and weight is critical.
